To deepen the integration of industry and education and build a bridge between academic theory and industrial practice, on October 15 and October 20, faculty and students from the Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, and Automation program at Guangzhou Institute of Technology visited Guangzhou Guangxing Group to participate in an enterprise‑based study‑and‑practice activity.

.

Led by Mr. Huang Xingbiao, the Group’s Chief Engineer, the faculty and students first toured Guangxing Group’s exhibition hall, the smart equipment display area, and the production workshop. The students closely examined the operational principles of a complete suite of intelligent farming equipment, gaining a firsthand understanding of the technical intricacies of automation and digitalization in livestock machinery. They were profoundly impressed by the highly integrated level of automation achieved in modern agricultural equipment.

Following the tour, Mr. Huang Xingbiao drew on his many years of experience in equipment R&D and industry practice to help first-year students clarify their study strategies and chart a path for personal growth. Addressing the common uncertainties faced by new undergraduates as they transition into university—regarding both academic pursuits and career planning—he provided a clear and accessible overview of the competencies and skills sought by the industry. He encouraged students to strengthen their foundational knowledge in mechanical engineering, cultivate a mindset of lifelong learning, and lay a solid groundwork during their undergraduate years, fostering engineering‑oriented thinking and helping them identify their long-term career trajectories.

This study‑tour program represents an important initiative by Guangzhou Guangxing Group to advance university–enterprise collaboration and support talent development at higher education institutions. By taking students directly to the workplace, it enables newly enrolled undergraduates to move beyond textbooks, gain a hands‑on understanding of the smart manufacturing sector, and ignite their enthusiasm for their chosen fields of study.

Looking ahead, Guangzhou Guangxing Group will continue to deepen collaboration between universities and enterprises, establish more platforms for hands-on learning, facilitate two-way exchange of industry‑education resources, and jointly cultivate a pool of engineering and technical talent that meets the needs of the industry.
